New Whitney Bank Vice President Named : Whitney National Bank has named Larry Cuervo, Jr., to be the Tampa Bay region's vice e president, Private Banking. Previously, Cuervo served as vice president/relationship manager at Wachovia Wealth Management for Wachovia Bank in Tampa. I .^^^^^^^ I^^^^^ City Council to Honor 2009 Police Officer of the Year Officer Justin Miller, 31, was honored by the Temple Terrace City Council, where he was congratulated by Mayor Joe Affronti, Temple Ter- race Police Chief Kenneth Albano and members of the city council. Officer Miller joined the Temple Terrace Police Department in December 2004 and has served. as a member of the Patrol Division since then. Hechas "continued to pursue professional excel- lence, displays excellent leadership qualities and is actively involved with additional assignments within the department," police officials wrote. In addition to his patrol responsibilities, Miller is an assistant team leader for both the Emer- gency Response Team and the Traffic Fatality Unit. He routinely plans, organizes, manages and volunteers to work special traffic enforcement details to identify and enforce specific traffic concems or problems. In 2008, he ranked second in the department for DUI arrests. Officer Miller also has made numerous felony arrests related to in-progress calls throughout the year. The exhibit is a collection of letters and notes by artists from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, such as Andy Warhol, Man Ray and Frida Kahlo. These personal expressions bring one closer to the movement of the artist's hand. The exhibit is arranged by themes.The themes include "Bon Voyage Letters," "I Do Letters," "Play on Words," "Visual Events," "Graphic In- structions" and "Thank You Notes." MFA Chief Curator Dr. Jennifer Hardin will introduce the works in a gallery talk at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the museum. The Mid Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has just rolled -out the toad map for its largest fundraiser of the year Bike MS: The Citrus Tour 2009 and registrations are now being accepted for individuals and teams, including corporate teams. With a refreshing new name and a scenic new route, Bike MS will take place May 16 and 17. The highly anticipated annual ride offers 50, 75 and 100 mile routes on Saturday and 50 and 75 mile routes on Sunday. Saturday the ride begins from its new starting point at the picturesque Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, through historic and Central Florida checkpoints and culminating with a celebration at the luxurious Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando. Sunday the routes are reversed. Bike MS is the Mid Florida Chapter's largest fundraiser, generating more than $1 million in 2008. Annually, Bike MS takes place in more than 100 cities nationwide, and is one of the largest fundraising bike events in the United States. Money raised by Bike MS as well as annual Walk MS events fund medical research and provide support and services for community members who have MS.
