This free event is hosted by Can- dace Defoor and is open to the public. Music Symposium HOMEMADE: A Symposium On the Art, Business and Cul- ture of Making Music will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hill- sborough Community College Ybor City campus' Performing Arts Building, located on the comer of 14th Street and Palm Avenue across the street from the Cuban Club. HOMEMADE is a free sym- posium that will provide nu- merous relevant workshops to emerging and seasoned musicians from the Tampa Bay area. This event will be a music conference and performance event with interactive educa- tional music workshops and- combination workshops with short performances. From 5 - 10 p.m., musical showcases by various conference partici- pants will be held in non-tra- ditional and traditional music venues throughout Ybor City. Legacy Awards The Ybor City Museum Society will host the 24th An- nual Legacy Awards Brunch on Sunday, June 8 from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. in the Siboney Room of the Columbia Restau- rant. The event celebrates the achievements of those who 1 I have made a lasting impact on Ybor City. Three category of awards are named for Ybor City legends: Vicente Martinez Ybor (economic development), Tony Pizzo (cultural history and heritage), and Adela Gonzmart (entrepreneurship). Individual tickets are $50 and Ybor City Museum Soci- ety receive a $5 discount per ticket. Chamber Luncheon The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce's Annual Instal- lation Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:45 a.m. at the Columbia Restau- rant, 2117 E.
