 Get your walking shoes on each and every FIRST Saturday of the month for YBOR CITY ARTWaIk.
 Historically one of Tampa's longest established arts communities, Ybor City has been home to artist
 studios, galleries, theater groups, and filmmakers for years. While you're here, don't forget to visit the
 Ybor Museum State Park, and numerous historic sites in the Ybor neighborhood. Please join us
 EVERY FIRST SATURDAY to celebrate and support our diverse arts community!!!

 Simply park your car and begin your stroll. Parking is FREE on the streets of Ybor on Saturdays until
 9 pm, or park in any of the conveniently located City of Tampa garages for a small hourly fee. You may

First Friday Celebration
 The Italian Club presents
its First Friday Celebration on
Friday, June 6 from 6 p.m. to
midnight. DJ Juice will play
hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, as
well as R&B and Latin music
and today's top 40 hits. A cash
bar will be available. Admission
is $20 and will include a buffet.

Spoken Word
 The International Bazaar
presents "Spoken Word" every
first Friday of the month at
8 p.m. The next event will be
held on Friday, June 6. This
free event is hosted by Can-
dace Defoor and is open to the
public. Anyone may speak,
perform an instrument or re-
cite their poetry to the crowd,
or simply just enjoy the event
and listen. -The International
Bazaar is located at 1600 E.
Eighth Avenue in the Centro
Ybor complex.
Music Symposium
 HOMEMADE: A Symposium
On the Art, Business and Cul-
ture of Making Music will be
held on Saturday, June 7 from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hill-
sborough Community College
Ybor City campus' Performing
Arts Building, located on the
comer of 14th Street and Palm
Avenue across the street from
the Cuban Club.
 HOMEMADE is a free sym-
posium that will provide nu-
merous relevant workshops
to emerging and seasoned
musicians from the Tampa Bay
area. This event will be a music
conference and performance
event with interactive educa-
tional music workshops and-
combination workshops with
short performances. From 5
- 10 p.m., musical showcases
by various conference partici-
pants will be held in non-tra-
ditional and traditional music
venues throughout Ybor City.
Legacy Awards
 The Ybor City Museum
Society will host the 24th An-
nual Legacy Awards Brunch
on Sunday, June 8 from 11:30
a.m. 1:30 p.m. in the Siboney
Room of the Columbia Restau-
rant. The event celebrates the
achievements of those who

have made a lasting impact
on Ybor City. Three category of
awards are named for Ybor City
legends: Vicente Martinez Ybor
(economic development), Tony
Pizzo (cultural history and
heritage), and Adela Gonzmart
(entrepreneurship).
 Individual tickets are $50
and Ybor City Museum Soci-
ety receive a $5 discount per
ticket.
Chamber Luncheon
 The Ybor City Chamber of
Commerce's Annual Instal-
lation Luncheon will be held
on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:45
a.m. at the Columbia Restau-
rant, 2117 E. Seventh Ave. Joe
Capitano, Jr. will be installed
as the new chairman of the
chamber. Admission is $20
in advance for members and
$22 for guests and $24 at the
door. RSVP by June 6 by call-

 The Hispanic Alliance is
holding a planning/organiza-
tional meeting for its upcom-

Idolo Awards
 A planning meeting for the
2008 Media dolos Awards will
be held on Tuesday, June 17
at noon at Latam Restaurant
in the Centro Asturiano de
Tampa, 1913 N. Nebraska Ave.
The Idolo Awards honor the top
Latin media professionals in
Tampa Bay. The agenda for the
planning meeting will include
setting a date and time for the
event and the voting and nomi-
