These companies will be joining similar companies like Tampa Digital and Gra-Fx Design of Tampa Inc in making Ybor their home. ***** * We hear County Commissioner Ken Hagan's aide, Rich Reidy, is talking with some in the Republi- can Party about his options to run for elected office this season. The Democratic National Com- mittee's Rules and Bylaws Com- mittee met with representatives from Florida on Saturday and decided to modify the punishment of Florida for violating the DNC's rules by having its primary too early. In this picture they are located at 21st Street near Columbus Drive. The streetcars themselves had actu- ally stopped running in August of 1946 after WWII. The call of modernization was leading the country to diesel buses for mass transit and Tampa didn't want to be left behind. The electric Birney streetcars had been in use since 1892. They were Tampa's choice for cheap, reliable, convenient transportation with over 53 miles of track. The streetcars had their peak in the 1920's with nearly 24 million passengers in 1926.
