room. Katie was making a frock for her doll,
and I was looking over her work-box; and she
had such a lot of pretty things in it, and one
nice piece of blue ribbon, and I wanted it for a
sash for my doll. Katie told me she was going to
trim her doll’s frock with it; and when I asked
her to give it to me, she said she wanted it so
much herself, and I thought she was very cross ;
so I walked away to the other end of the room,
and there were some roses on the table, and I
took one up and wondered if I should look nice
with it stuck in my hair; so I went to the
looking-glass and tried it, and then I put it in
the other side to see which way looked best,
