For it was not long before poor
kitty was taken very poorly. Its
young master did not know how to
manage it, perhaps, as well as its
own mother, and the silly little
thing would get into mischief and
danger.

First, it stayed out playing all one
night--got away, you know, so that
it could not be found when it was
wanted ; and when they opened the
door next morning, there was kitty
sneezing away. It had caught a bad
cold.
