And now the idea came into her
head that perhaps she might carw a
penny now and then, and that if she
saved them all up, possibly by
Johnny’s next birthday she might
have got together a whole shilling
and be able to buy it.

She thought of that little scheme
all the way home, so that the good
farmer's wife several times asked,

‘Had she not enjoyed her ride to
that fine place? she was so quict.
