and then to big ones. Come, look
here; this is great A, and this next
is bouncing B, and—’

‘Great A! said Johnny. ‘I
don’t think he’s very great. He’s a
great deal littler than I am,’

Then he tried to turn over the leaf
to see what was on the other side.

‘Oh! but you must look,’ said
May: ‘ you must look at it well; or
else you won’t know it again.’

So Johnny gave one more look,
and then he patted May’s cheek and
kissed her; saying in a coaxing sort
of way, that he had when he was
