Appendix I. Sites investigated by Laxson. Dates of excavation are based on information at FLMNH and in the references
listed. Collections information consists of: 1) artifact collections identified by FLMNH catalog numbers, based on donor,
catalog, and collections site cards at FLMNH; 2) zooarchaeological specimen information identified by Zooarchaeology
Laboratory (ZL) accession numbers on file at FLMNH; and 3) HMSF catalog numbers. No additional archaeological
collections by Laxson were located, including searches of the Florida Museum of History in Tallahassee, the Smithsonian
Institution, and the Yale Peabody Museum (YPM). Archaeological collections from Dade County at YPM are those of John
Goggin and Charles Brookfield (they are not Laxson’s). At FLMNH, collections ZL 3-5 and 8-26 were identified in 1962-1963;
collection ZL 103 was identified in 1965, followed by collections ZL 140-144 in 1973; ZL 341-344 remain un-identified.
