Anyone interested in becoming involved to help local children facing life threatening disorders is invited to attend. Woman's Club lunch Oct. 12 The Starke Woman's Club will hold its October luncheon meeting next Wednesday, Oct. 10, at noon. All members are encouraged and urged to attend as final plans are being made for several activities and projects that will take place this month. Members are asked to bring a friend or prospective members. First-time prospective members will be special guests of the club for lunch. Program Chair JoAnn Rowe will introduce the Hugh O'Brien Scholarship award winner, who will present the program for the day. Final plans are being made for the Oct. 14, Sunday luncheon that is being given for the 50 students who completed the first Etiquette for Kids class that was given in January. Following the 1 p.m. lunch, the students will attend the Santa Fe Community College "Lady Bug" dance review at the Bradford High School auditorium. During the program, the students will be recognized and given their certificates of completion for the. etiquette course. Plans are under way for an Etiquette for Teens class that will be conducted in January or February of 2008. Parents interested in enrolling their teens in three half-day classes are asked to call club Project Chair Lisa Tatum at (904) 782- 3078 or (904) 769-1748, or club President Joan Rogers at (904) 964-7515. Class size will be limited to the first 50 students enrolled. Also on tap for this month is the annual Starke Fall Festival that will be held Oct. 20- 21. On stage at the Woman's Club will be local talent and entertainment for the public's enjoyment, free of charge. Also featured on display at the club will be artwork completed by Bradford County students. The club will also have special kid foods during the day Saturday and after church on Sunday afternoon. For the adults, the menu will feature chicken salad. Luncheon hostesses for the meeting will be Pam Whittle, Pat Adams, Billy Bloom, Jackie Grider, Dianne Hayes and Muriel Wilson.
