RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Mensurational data from the experiment are given in Table 1, and the significance of the differences is indicated in Table 2. Height Fertilization alone significantly increased the height of both slash and loblolly pines by an average of 12.5% and 17.3c%, respectively, over all water table levels. However, response to fertilizer was greatest on the uncontrolled water table, with the second greatest response on the 46-cm water table.
