Instead of defining numerous enterprises with specific plant-harvest dates, the approach taken herein was to define a single composite enterprise which depicts all production of similar enterprises in that production area. Hence, marketing from a particular cropping system are spread over several months. Data compiled by the Florida Tomato Committee (1993) provided monthly marketing by production area for tomatoes. There is no similar data for the other crops included in this study. The Vegetable Summary provides statewide marketing by month and crop, but this information is not disaggregated by production area.
