The disease is controlled by certain preventive and cur- ative methods. The preventive methods consist in correcting the soil conditions that are favorable for the development of the disease. The curative methods consist in the use of bluestone (copper sulphate) on the soil and beneath the bark of the trees; and of spraying the trees with bordeaux mixture.
