This survivor testified in Mexico, in 1547, that he was born in Galicia, Spain around 1502. He had known de Soto since the year 1537, and had gone to Florida. There he saw de Soto using a very good tent made of fine Peruvian cotton and wool. He witnessed the existence of the rich region of the chief Tigualta who had 17 provinces under his jurisdiction.
