151 with municipal work. I'd written a Master's thesis on city manager government in Florida and started a municipal search bureau. I was the Florida editor of the official magazine of the National City Manager's Association. So I was talking to George and he said, "You know I could use you on my staff." I said, "Well, I would like to be involved with you and your company," and lkept the position several years. P: Let me break in here because I want to get the chronology straight. again. We worked together in the spring and his office was right here in town. P: So you stayed with Who's Who then for about three years. You left the merit system in '59. L: Yes. I didn't really begin work in Who's Who until the summer of 1960. P: You stayed with them till. . L: Until '64, or about then. P: Then you moved in with Mr. Langford. L: Yes. I was the vice-president as the public relations man for the corporation. I went to the conventions and called people about their codes and ordinances and people who had inquired about service. A kind of salesman although I didn't go on the road. We had another person who did that. P: But you kind of opened the door for the salesmen. L: I kind of opened the door for the salesmen. The salesman was given a percentage on his sales, and in quite a few instances, I found out later on, he was paid for sales that I'd make on the telephone. But I didn't raise a question with George at all. P: Angus, you're still connected with that firm, aren't you? L: Yes, I'm a director on the board. P: Mr. Langford still living?
