DARE say most of our young friends
have heard of Elihu Burritt, the
good man who went about giving lectures to
try to convince people that it would be bet-
ter for us all, and that we should be much
happier, if all the countries in the world
were at peace with each other, instead
of fighting and killing one another, as they
often do. We say went about,—but he is at
the present time going from place to place
on his mission of love; for his heart is too
much interested in the object for him ever
to be silent, whilst he has strength to raise
his voice.
Perhaps, some of our little readers have
