course in the Master's program, LIS 200, Introduction to Information Science, for several years, as well as a course in cataloging and one in Health Sciences Bibliography. Norma received her M.L.S. in 1978 from the U.C. Berkeley School of Library Science. She has worked at the Library at Berkeley since that time, in the Serials Department, the Health Sciences Information Service, and the Natural Resources Library. From 1983-1989 she was the Head of the Natural Resources Library, until the initial merger with the Biology Library. She received a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from Cornell University in 1970; she taught Spanish from 1969 through 1977 at College of Notre Dame in Belmont, California, where she was Chair of the Spanish Department. Professional activities outside Berkeley have included membership in USAIN, ALA and SLA. She is currently the Chair of the Editorial Board of Choice (a publication of ACRL), having served as a member of the Editorial Board for the previous four years, and as a reviewer since 1971. She is also on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Information; she is serving on the Oberly Award Committee of the ScilTech Division of ACRL; this committee presents an award every two years to the best bibliography in the field of agriculture. She was President of the Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group (a chapter of MLA) and served on that board for several years. Norma was Chair of LAUC-B (the Librarian's Association of University California, Berkeley), and has been a member of several local and statewide LAUC committees. Her most recent publications are two articles on impact factors in ecology journals, co-authored with Prof. Vince Resh of the Entomology Department at Berkeley and Professor Bernard Statzner of Lyons, France, published in Oikos (April, 1995) and Trends in Ecology and Evolution (May, 1995). She has written numerous book reviews, and recently refereed two books published by Cornell University Press and the University of California Press in the field of agriculture. Robert Bruce McGeachin Dr. Rob McGeachin is an Assistant Professor and Agriculture Reference Librarian at the West Campus Library of Texas A&M University, a branch of the main campus Sterling C. Evans Library. He has been with the West Campus Library since March of 1994 and was a Science Reference Librarian at Evans Library from October of 1992 through February of 1994. In addition to reference duties he works with agricultural faculty for collection development of the agriculture collection of the West Campus Library. He has worked as a technician, research associate and visiting instructor with the aquaculture program of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences of Texas A&M University from 1981 through 1984 teaching fisheries classes, conducting fish nutrition research and working in the middle east on USAID funded fish culture projects. In 1985-86 he was anaquaculture research scientist at the Caribbean Marine Research Center, Lee Stocking Island, Exuma Cays, Bahamas, doingmarine fish culture research. He also was a technician with the Poultry Science Department of Texas A&M University for six years conducting biochemical and nutrition research with poultry. In addition to a Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992, he has a Bachelors Degree with a double major in biology and anthropology from the University of Louisville (1973) and Masters and Doctoral Degrees (1977 and 1980) in aquaculture (Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences) from Texas A&M University. He has a broad background from work and educational experience in agricultural research and agriculture in general.
