She is involved in the international activities of the Hungarian Library Association. She has been a member of the ALA/International Relations Committee since 1996. Edward Goedeken Edward Goedeken, Principal Bibliographer for the Humanities, in the Iowa State University Library, received a B.A. from William Penn College, an M.A. in American History from Iowa State University, a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Kansas, and an M.L.S. from the University of Iowa. Dr. Goedeken taught American History at Emporia State University. At William Penn College, where he served as Library Director, he also taught a broad range of history courses in European History. Prior to coming to Iowa State University in 1992, he served as the History Bibliographer at Purdue University. At Iowa State University, he selects material in the areas of journalism and mass communication, English and American literatures, philosophy and religion, art and architecture, and also foreign languages and literatures. His research interests include twentieth-century American history and the history of libraries and book culture. He has published articles in a variety of journals including Libraries & Culture, The Historian, The Journal of Military History, Library Acquisitions: Practice and Theory, and Serials Librarian. Eileen Herring Eileen Herring is a Reference Librarian in the Science and Technology Department at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Library. Her area of specialization is plant sciences and tropical agriculture. Eileen has an MLIS from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and a BA from the University of California at San Diego. She has been accepted in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources Masters Degree Program in Horticulture at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Eileen received her MLIS in 1993 after spending nearly eight years doing landscape maintenance in California and managing a variety of major commerical landscapes in Honolulu. After graduation, she was a Reference Librarian at Hawai'i Medical Library until she joined the Science and Technology Department in 1995. In addition to her reference duties, Eileen is responsible for collection development in several areas relating to tropical agriculture including botany, agronomy and soil science, horticulture, plant pathology, plant molecular physiology, entomology, agricultural and resource economics, environmental biochemistry, biosystems engineering, and food science and human nutrition. Eileen also acts as the creator and editor for the Science and Technology Department Web pages. She is the departmental liaison with the Agricultural Development in the American Pacific Project and developed a database management protocol for their Taro project which is a long-term bibliographic project utilizing Pro-Cite software. John Ingram In November, 1994, John Ingram became the Chair of the Department of Special Collections, George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida, with administrative responsibilities for the rare books, manuscripts, university archives, and other special collections. He serves as the UniversityUs representative for the Monticello Project in South Eastern Special Collections Access (SESCA) cosponsored by SOLINET and SURA.
