resource person and consultant on preservation-related issues in the local community and surrounding area. In 1990, she and the preservation and binding staff conducted a workshop in Dallas entitled "Constructing Simple Binding Repairs". The workshop was sponsored by the Texas Library Association and the North American Serials Group. During 1992-93, Ms. Gyeszly was an ALA/USIA Library Fellow at the National Szechenyi Library in Budapest, Hungary. She assisted in the conversion of a traditional reference service into an automated reference service. She prepared bilingual training and users manuals for OPAC and CD-ROMs. She negotiated, purchased, and assisted in the installation of a LAN. She consulted on automation and preservation issues with major Hungarian research and university libraries. Before coming to Texas A&M University, she was the reference and collection development librarian at Michigan State University, College of Human Ecology Library. She established the college library, and provided reference services to faculty, staff, and students and collected, processed and cataloged monographs and serials. She prepared the on-line cataloging systems. In addition, she preserved several hundred volumes of a unique and rare interior design collection donated by Dr. Shipley. Ms. Gyeszly received a Master of Library Science degree at Western Michigan University (1973) and a Master of Science Degree at Michigan State University (1972). In addition, she earned a Master of Arts Degree in Hungary (1967) and received training in book and paper conservation at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas in Austin (1983). She served as a member of the Texas State Library and Texas Library Association's State-wide Preservation Task Force Committee during 1988-91. She is a tenured professor at Texas A&M University (1995). She was a Fulbright Scholar to Hungary during the Fall of 1995. Her publications include monographs, refereed journal articles, book chapters related to collection development, preservation, and automation. Her major publications on collection development, international library issues, and automation are: "Eastern Europe A Resource Guide" (1995); "Fulbright Scholar Program at the National Szechenyi Library, Hungary, Professional and Personal Experiences" (1996); "Automated Collection Analysis and Development" (1993) with co-author Jane Dodd; "Bibliographic Data Regarding 20th Century Presidential Materials; a Comparative Analysis of OCLC/AMIGOS Collection CD and OCLC/EPIC Databases# (1993); "Computer Aided Storage Design" (1992); and "Replacement of Automated Systems - Organizational and Staff Training Considerations" (1991). Preservation-related publications are: "Circulating Serials at Texas A&M: A Preservation and Collection Development Project" (1983); "Impact of the Environment in the Library A Preservation Overview" (1982); "Preservation of Sheet Maps, Lamination or Encapsulation: A Durability Study" (1982) with co- author Judith Rieke. She delivered several presentations at the ALA, state, and international conferences on collection development and preservation related topics. Her major presentations include: "Serials Assessment Reflecting Campus-wide Strategic Plans" (1996); "Going Home Again.
