Let us be careful how we judge others
uncharitably, in denouncing, ridiculing, per-
secuting those who live differently from what
we do—who seem to us to be narrow-minded
and selfish—it may be that we are doing
them great injustice, and injuring those who
are in reality far better than ourselves.’ Let
us, rather, be charitable, for this is always
safe.
