Why is it—if I may stop a moment
here, to drop a hint where it may possi-
bly be picked up by some one in the
ministerial office—why is it that such
multitudes of our best clergymen fail
utterly in this department? Why is it,
that though it can almost be said of them
that they “speak with the tongues of
men and of angels, and have the gift of
prophecy, and understand all mysteries
and all knowledge,”’ they are dumb, or
might as well be dumb, when they at-
