He sailed for Europe, and, at length,
after visiting several countries, started
on a voyage up the Nile, to visit the
pyramids and the rest of the curious
things that are to be found near the
banks of that stream. But alas! he
was doomed to be disappointed. He
was seized with a raging fever soon
after he began to ascend the river, and
there, in the midst of strangers, with
no friends around him but the family
