whole building. The surface of the
elass measured eight hundred and nine-
ty-six thousand square feet, and the
weight of the glass was eight hundred
and ninéty-six thousand pounds.

The weight of all the iron used in
the building, was nine millions of
pounds. It was heavy enough to sink
quite a number of vessels, wasn’t it?

The whole cost of the crystal palace,
was about one hundred and fifty thou-
sand pounds, or nearly seven hundred
