‘THE FIERY-CROWNED RINGLET. Tue little Ringlet is found in evory part of the United States. It resembles the fiery-crested wren in appearance, having the same-golden crown, and being nearly of the same size. The plumage is brilliant and varied, the prevailing color being yellowish-olive. During their visits to the Southern States, these birds are very active in gleaning up insects and lurking larves; for which they search the. gardens and orchards. They may be seen hopping from twig to twig, sometimes in company with the lively chickadee, and occasionally giving a feeble chirp. About the first of (78)
