THE TUFTED TITMOUSE. - Jue Titmouse is a familiar, active, rest- less bird, of a peevish and courageous disposition, and a great enemy of insects. It moves by short and sudden leaps, from branch to branch. During the autumn and winter, the Titmice approach gar dens and orchards, in search of food. They feed on grain, fruits, insects, and larve, which they pick out from every crevice. In pursuit. of insects they sometimes in- jure the trees.
