THE RAVEN. Tus bird measures twenty-eight in- ches in length, of which the tail is one half; the wings are large, and, when ex- tended, the breadth from tip to tip is forty-eight inches; the weight is nearly three pounds. The plumage is black, with a blue gloss; the irides consist of two circles, the outer brown, the inner gray; the bill and legs are black. It builds its nest in high trees or rocks, composed of sticks, lined with wool, and has five pale-green eggs, with brown and gray spots.
