THE CONDOR. Tur Condor is the largest bird that flies. Its favorite residence is the great chain of the lofty Andes mountains of South America, and they are sometimes seen among the mountains of Mexico. At the immense height of nearly six miles, the Condor is seen through the air, watchfully surveying the vast region be- low, in quest of its accustomed prey. When impelled by hunger, it descends to the plains, and will often attack large beasts.
