THE TURNSTONE. Tue Turnstone, or Sea Dotterell, is a singular marine bird, which is found in nearly every part of the world. Its fa- vorite breeding resorts, however, are in the far north. It is of a wild and solitary disposition, coursing along the shore in pairs or in small families, which have been bred together. In a mere depression of the sand along the sea-coast, the Turn- stone drops its eggs, which are four in number, and of an olive green color, spotted with brown.
