THE BLACK-NECKED STILT. Tur Stilts are sometimes called Long- legged Plovers. Vast flocks of them may be seen on the borders of the sea and the salt lakes, as well as upon the banks of rivers. They fly with great rapidity, but when running, appear to stagger in balancing their long legs. Their food consists of small worms, flies, shell-fish, and insects. They move about in small flocks.
