THE RED SPOONBILL. By looking at a picture of the Spoonbill. the little reader will know why the bird is so named. When full grown, the bill is six inches in length, and two inches in width at the end. The bird itself grows to the length of two feet six inches. The American Spoonbill is chiefly found in the warm regions of the continent, and is very common in the West India Islands. The plumage is brillant, the upper parts being red and the under portions white.
