THE MALABAR SQUIRREL. Tuis Squirrel is so named because it is found on the Malabar coast of India. It is of a reddish-brown color on the upper parts ; the under parts and tail are black; the ears are slightly tufted. It is one of the largest of squirrels, being about the size of a cat. It has small ears, long hair, strong black claws, and a small thumb on the fore paw, with a flat nail. The Malabar Squirrels feed chiefly on the milk of the cocoa-nut, and have a loud, ringing voice.
