THE NYL-GHAU. Tur Nyl-Ghau is sometimes called the Blue Cow, and the White-footed Antelope. Ii seems to be confined to the northwestern provinces of Hindostan, and the countries situated between them and Persia. ‘The male is superior in size to the stag; his head is large, with black horns, seven or eight inches long; his neck long and maned; his shoulders are surmounted by a slight hump. The general color of his body is a slate-gray, with patches of white. The Nyl-Ghau eats oats and is fond of grass, hay, and wheat bread. It is vicious and fierce in the rutting season, but at (54)
