THE MENAGERIE.

Come, let us go to see the Menagerie.
There we may see wild beasts of all kinds,
from the great elephant to the prying
little weasel. Tho animals are kept in
cages which have strong iron bars in front,
so that we can look at the fiercest ones
and yet feel that we are safe. There is
the mighty Lion stretched on the floor of
his cage, like a dog. See, what a thick
mane he has, and how his eyes glare.
His roar seems to shake the building.
