“* Certainly,’ said the captain. ‘You
may come, Jack. Go aboard and get ready,
and you may take any one with you, you
please, for company.’

‘‘ Jack thanked the gentlemen very much,
and bidding Mr. John good bye, he was pre-
paring to step into the boat. Before he
went, however, he said,
