One deep well (404 feet) was abandoned because of a high hydrogen sulfide content and six shallower wells were abandoned be- cause of declining water levels, partially as a result of close spacing. The Chemstrand Corporation pumped an average of 7.9 mgd (fully metered) during 1962. This fgure was reduced from a high of 9.2 mgd during 1959. The plant started production in the fall of 1953.
