And an extension of the city limits, which is a rather frequent occurrence, may make an abnormal apparent increase between two successive censuses. The apparent decreases in the population of Lakeland, Kissimmee and Dade City between 1915 and 1920 are hard to understand, unless the areas covered by the enumerators were smaller at the latter period, or there was some error in tabulating the returns. The increases in some, popular winter resorts at the same time are doubtless due partly to the fact that the census of 1915 was taken in summer and that of 1920 in winter.
