PROGRAM OF PUBLIC INFORMATION AND EDUCATION AN OUTLINE Your Select Committee recommends the approval of the following program of public information and education to enable the people of the Virgin Islands to render informed judgments in the proposed referendum-election on political status and federal relations issues (November 1986): 1. That a summary of this report and section-by-section analyses of the various status documents included herein be prepared by your Select Committee; and that copies of said summary, section-by-section analyses and this report be widely distributed throughout the Virgin Islands. 2. That your Select Committee invite all interested civic, professional, labor, business and other community organizations and residents (including those who testified at the nine public information programs conducted by your Select Committee during the period of May 29-August 15, 1984) to assist in forming ad hoc committees on the various status options and in presenting panel discussion programs on radio and television and in various residential communities and housing developments throughout the Virgin Islands. 359
