PANAMA CANAL TREATY ARTICLE II RATIFICATION ENTRY INTO FORCE, AND TERMINATION 1. This Treaty shall be subject to ratification in accordance with the constitutional procedures of the two Parties. The instrumnents of ratification of this Treaty shall be exchanged at Panama at the same time as the instruments of ratification of the Treaty Concerning the Permanent Neutrality and Operation of the Panama Canal, signed this date, are exchianged. This Treaty shall enter into force, simultaneously With the Treaty Concerningy the Permanent Neutrality and Operation of the Panama Canal, six calendar months from the date of the excha,)ngre of the instruments of ratification. 2. This Treaty shall terminate at noon, Panama time, December 31, 1999. Suimmary.-Provided that Panama won]ld grant the United States use of the American sector of the Corozal Cemetery in perpetuity, without charge or taxation, and that the American Battle Monuments Commission wofld administer this part of the cemetery. The amendmnent also included concomitant revisions of Articles ITT ,XT, and XIII. Text.-Before the period at the end of paragraph 2 of article IT, insert a comma and the following: "except that the provisions of this Treaty shall not terminate with respect to such part of Corozal Cemetery as encompasses the remains of citizens of the United States of America." At the end of the first paragraph of article III, add the following: "The Republic of Panama grants in perpetuity, without charge or taxation, to the United States of America the use of such part of Corozal Cemetery as encompasses the remains of citizens of the United States of America, which cemetery shall be administered by the Anmerican Battle Monuments Commission." In the first paragraph of article XI, insert ", except for such part of Corozal Cemetery as encompasses the remains of citizens of the United States of America," immediately after "the f ormer Canal Zone." In the text above paragraph 2 (a) of article XIII, immediately after "4all real property," insert "except for such part of Corozal Cemetery 'While Article X was before the Committee of the Whole in the article-by-article Consideration of the Treaty.
