During the detention by the authorities of the Republic of Panama of a United States citizen employee or a dependent the authorities of the Republic of.Panama shall permit members of his immediate family to visit him weekly. Material and medical assistance (such as food, clothing and comfort items) which the authorities of the United States and members of his immediate family may consider desirable, and any other assistance which is in accordance with or allowed by Panamanian prison regulations, may be provided to him on such visits. 11. The Coordinating Committee will constitute the channel of communication and information between the two Parties with regard to matters pertaining to the implementation of this Article. ARTICLE XX General Provisions 1. The activities of the United States in the Republic of Panama shall be carried out with adequate attention to public health and safety, and consequently, within the areas made available for the use of the United States under this Agreement, the authorities of the United States shall have the right to take appropriate sanitation measures. The authorities of the United States shall cooperate with the authorities of the Republic of Panama for these purposes. 2. United States citizen employees and dependents may bear private arms in accordance with applicable Panamanian laws and regulations. TIAS 10031
