    The  Republic of Cuba (hereinafter called the "Republic"), for value received, will pay to the bearer hereof, or, if registered as hereinafter provided, to the registered owner hereof, on the 30th day of June, 1945, the principal sum of one thousand dollars, and will pay interest on such principal sum from the date hereof at the rate of five and one-half percentum (5/%)  per annum,  semiannually, on June 30 and December 31 in each year, until such principal sum shall be paid, but, except with respect to any instalments of interest that
