 There is one subject that aust be brought u-ij .t this meeting.
For some months prst, the salesmen of this inrlutry hrve been tr,;ing
to persuade thi mrxiufacturers to meet the.a for the -iur-ose of dis-
cussing the matter of their commissions and dra.--in. recounts. Out-
side of one brief meeting of a sr-11 committee some consid-erable time
a.o, nothing has been done. A de-)utation of these salesmen -rited
upon me on ioind.Pj afternoon of this week and I reed to bring the
subject before the Code Authority at its meeting Thursd.y night.

 I take this ground. It is for the best interests of the indus-
try to meet these gentlernien, rnd if they c.'nnot accede to requests
made, say so courteously and plainly and ;-ive the reasons therefore.
It does not make for good. feel.in-: .W, therefore, cannot be of help
to the induAtry to hrve a.nr of its enTloyees feel disgruntled. Sone-
times sore spots can be ironed out by havin; :-l.rin, honel2y talks With

talk to the Code Authority along this line. iHr. iittenthal, the Code
Director, is fully familiar with the situation.

men are entitled to coisideration or not, at le;:-t they r.Tust agree
they are entitled to the courtesy of a ;ro-)er hearing and disposition.
