-121- ARTICLE III Hours 1. Except as hereinafter provided, no employee shall be Dermitted to work in excess of forty (40) hours in any one week, nor in excess of eight (8) hours in any twenty-four (24) hour period. 2. 17o person eTmployed in shipping, clerical or office work, unless he is eraployed in a nanngerial or executive capacity and e.rns not less thr.n thirty-five ($35.00) per week, shall be permitted to work in excess 9f forty (40) hours in any one week nor in excess of eight (8) hours in any t-enty-four (24) hour period. 3. The provisions of this Article shall not ay-ly to outside salesmen. 4. Subject to review by the Ad:.-inistrartor, tho Code Authority shall designate the hour before which work shall not ba;in and the hour after which work shall not continue. In the discretion of the Code Auth- ority such openin- Pnd closing hours need not be uniform throughout the country but may be varied to meet varying needs and conditions. 5. ITo manufacturing operations shall take place on any Saturday or any Sunday. 6. No member of the industry shall en-ar;e any employee for any time which when totaled with that already performed with other member or mem- bers of tho industry exceeds the maximum n ermitted herein. ARTICLE IV Wages 1. Except as hereinafter -rovicled no erployee shall be -. id at less than the rate of thirty cents (30) per hour when enmloyed within Greeter Hew York and the immediate vicinity thereof, nor less than twenty-five cents (250) per hour when enm-)lo/ed outside Greater New York and the immediate vicinity thereof. 2. Persons learning an occupation shall be )paid niiot less than eighty per cent (80%) of the miniaumn wa.;e which prevails in such occu- pation, and the number of such workers shall not exceed five per cent (5%) of the number of employees of any one employer and no person shall be emolojed as a learner for a oeriodC, in excess of three (3) months ir- respective of whether they are erplored by one or more employers. 3. This Article establishes a minimum rate of pay which shall apply irrespective of whether an employee is compensated on a piece rate, time rate or other basis. 4.
