Medical community gives back A well-done to the / employees at . JLCharlotte and Peace River Regional Medical Centers. They filled three vans with donated Christmas gifts for more than 30 children as part of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree project, according to a press release. Charlotte Regional's medical staff office coordinator, Karen McGowan, and her husband, Michael, a volunteer, donated gifts to children this year in lieu of buying gifts for one another. The ER team at Peace River Regional purchased gifts for 27 foster children, ages ranging from 5 months to 18 years. "I have a family support worker that I contact every year who provides us a list of children in our community," nurse Liz Cowart was quoted as Advertisement saying in the release. "I thank them for allowing us to do this mission as well as my ER staff who, without question, reach deep in hopes of provid- ing a better Christmas for these children." On the Medical- Surgical Oncology unit at Peace River, employees grew close to a mother and her family during her last days. When she passed, the staff could think of nothing more rewarding than to help the aunt who took in these four children to live with her and one of her own. The unit collected a truck bed full of gifts for these five children in hopes of brightening the holidays for them during such a sad time. Happy Home Services, or "The Company That Does It All," has been cleaning customers' Carpeting and rugs for 1 more than 30 years. According to Hanan Hishmeh, carpets should be professionally cleaned every 18 months to two years. e "We tell you up front what your cost will be," she said. "There are never any hidden charges." The Happy Home Services professional carpet cleaning technicians will help you decide which method would work best for your carpeting and area rugs. The company offers three types of carpet cleaning: steam, dry and rotary. Steam cleaning uses truck- mounted hot steam extraction methods to pre-condition the carpeting, pre-treat spots and clean the carpet. The dry cleaning method pre-conditions and pre-spots using dry cleaning solution. Rotary cleaning uses rotary brushes to pre-condition and pre-scrub, cleaning by loosening the dirt that has become embedded in the carpet fibers, which is then extracted using the truck-mounted steam system. While many carpet cleaning companies charge extra for pre-conditioning and pre- treating, Happy Home Services includes these treatments with your cleaning. Special treatments can be added, such as pet odor treatment; smoke, mold and other odor removal; Dupont Teflon protection; and deodorizing and sanitizing.
