Broward Hadassah Chapters to Reorganize

Bernice Tannenbeum. pres-
ident of Hadassah. has an-
nounced that the Florida Region
of Hadassah is to be reorganized
into four regions, with the local
Broward County, including
South Palm Beach, created as the
Florida Mid-Coast Region of Ha-
dassah.
The new region will comprise
the chapters of Bermuda Club-
Herzl. Boca Raton-Aviva. Castle
Gardens-Armon, Deerfield
Beach-Kadimah. Deerfield
Beach-Scopus. Delray-Ben
Gurion. Fort Lauderdale Beach-
Bat Yam. Fort Lauderdale-Have-
rim. Fort Lauderdale-Tamar.
Hallandale. Hawaiian Gardens-
liana. Hollywood. Inverrary-Gi-
lah. Lighthouse Point-Sabra.
Margate. Oakland Estates-Avi-
va. Oriole-Scopus, Planlation-
Kavanah. Plantation-L'Chayim,
Pompano Beach-Chai. Pompano-
Golda Meir. Somerset-Shoshana.
Southwest Broward. Sunrise-
Shalom and West Broward
HELEN Weisberg. past pres-
ident of the Florida Region and
currently organization chair-
woman, has been meeting with
the Broward Hadassah leaders
for the past several months, out-
lining the procedures for the for-
mation of the new region.

the national Hadassah office in

declared, in part. A newly or-
ganized Florida Mid Coast Ha-
dassah region will create a more
cohesive relationship among the
12.000 members now enrolled in
Broward County.
"We anticipate there will be
more regional meetings in this
tightly knit area, offering a con-
tinuing exchange of ideas, pro-
grams and inspiration, all of
which will help not only to
strengthen Hadassah locally, but
will reflect upon the whole of
American Hadassah The reor-
ganization is long overdue in
view of the fantastic growth of
the population in Broward
County
Attending all the planning
meetings are representatives of
the various existing chapters:
Jeanette Alman. Myra Boosin
and Ann Cooper of Hallandale;
Esther Cannon and Mary Pavony
of North Broward: Lillian Pack-
er. Ida Cohen and Mollie Lewis of
Southwest Broward: Pearl Gol-
denberg and Hennie Sellner of
Wttt Broward: Helen Kamer.
Sara Munter and Frances Vizen-
thal of Hollywood: and Josephine
Newman and Dori Tarlow of Fort
Lauderdale.
Elections of officers for the new
Florida Mid-Coast region of Ha-
dassah will be held at the annual
conference of the existing Florida
Region, scheduled for April 30,
May 1 and 2 at the Bahia Mar
Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
INSTALLATION will take
place at the conference banquet
on Monday night, May 1, togeth-
er with the officers of the other
three newly formed regions.
