Volunteers Honored The Tampa Section of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) honored its volunteers at the spring luncheon on May 9. Seventy-five women and men were recognized for their contributions to NCJW projects during the past year. A first-time showing of the Section's newest project and puppet show. "I Can Be A Volunteer.'' was also presented. A class of kindergarten students were on hand for the per- formance. The 19S4-1985 officers were also installed. They are: Betty Cohen. Haubenatocks Return Audrey and Alfred Haubenstock recently returned from a European vacation. They spent three weeks traveling through Spain and Portugal. Audrey is editor of the Jewish Floridian of Tampa. Officers Installed Congregation Schaarai Zedek's Brotherhood concluded its thirty-first year on May 8 with the annual installation dinner at the Tower Club. Outgoing president. Mike Duncan turned the gavel over to incoming president, Dr. Irwin Browaraky. Other officers installed were Jeff Bloom, first vice president; Joe Deems, second vice president; Leo Shaw, treasurer; and Jack Perman, secretary. Two BBYO Members Elected Two members of the Tampa B'nai B'rith Youth Organization (BBYO) were elected to positions on the North Florida Council at that convention in Day tone Beach last month. Manny Matalon, a member of the Adolph Berger AZA chapter, was elected Aleph Godol (president) and Tammy Smith, a member of the Ernest Maas BBG chapter, was elected Mazkira (secretary). AZA Advisor Dan Albert reported that 15 young people represented Tampa BBYO at the convention, which also in- cluded a leadership training conference. Weisman Honored Morris Weisman, adjutant for the USS Tampa Post No. 5 of the American Legion, was honored with a citation for outstanding service in 1963. The post's commander made the presentation on behalf of the Department of Florida. A World War I Veteran, Weisman also served as Post Commander for 1969-1975, longer in that position than any other person. Let us share "Your News." Chairman of the B and P Arrangements Committee, announced that the evening wiD begin at 5:30 with refreshments and networking on the Museum's verandah, then a tour of Tampa's landmark Museum by Director Emily Brownold. Emily Brownold, a member of the BAP Network, comes to Tampa with valuable experience. She s a native of Harrisburg. Pa : received her BA in Art History from Beloit College and her MAT in Museum Education from George Washington University. Her credentials include the Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery. The Are You a Holocaust Survivor? The Tampa Jewish Federation through the Holocaust Sub- committee of the Community Relations Committee, is trying to locate all Holocaust survivors in Hillsborough County.
