children have his stubbornness of

hope that my children will of
course remain Jewish," he
concludes, "but I hope equally
they will see in the lives of their
parents the importance of every
individual's struggle to know
God."

area 72 years ago from Burlot,
Rumania. He waa retired as a aalea

John Darting Lodge 1584 and Congre-
gation Rodeph Sholom Synagogue. He la
survived by hla wife, Rebecca; daugh-
ter. Frieda Halmovltx Scott; and
preceded In death by hla daughter
Eleanor Joan McCulloch. He la also sur-
vived by grandchildren, Michael Gary
