KELMAN i/v name is Ilene Kelman, a se- Sr at Uto High School We will ' \n writing this all-about-town \ column for the ana'* Jewish tetns. Your contributions will be helpful. We are looking for news h organizatons, high schools, | outstanding accomplishments, college news, as well as travel, moves, and other events of inter- est. We have two new members of our community to introduce. Both are from the Northeast Andrew Geitch is from New Jer- sey and Jonathan Pear is from Binghampton, N.Y. Andrew, a junior at Chamber- lain, has become involved in scores of activities since he moved to Tampa a few months ago. At school, he has joined NFL, Model UN, and he's looking forward to the tennis season (looks like Varsity to me). Outside of school, Andrew (no one calls him Andv) hasn't missed a SchZFTY (Rail!) func- tion His next project is the Re- publican Party. In addition to his many involvements, Andrew finds lime to do the things he enjoys alone playing the piano. horseback riding, photography, and eating (especially Chinese, Mexican, and Jewish food). A friendly, easygo- ing, nice guy, he likes easy music like Hilly Joel, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Cure. (I've never heard of them either maybe he'll play some of their records for us.) Like Andrew, Jonathan Pear mentioned Billy Joel and Chinese food as favorites. He also likes basketball (he's on the team at Plant), and seafood, except fish, and the Beatles. This H. B. Plant sophomore has already joined the Computer Club and SchZFTY. Looks like we'll be hearing a lot from Jonathan soon! The last person who needs a re- introduction lived here briefly last year. Welcome back, Dawn Levinson. Dawn attended High School in Israel (like Andy Rob- enkranz and Michelle Fbhman) this summer after a stay in Miami. BBYO had a good start this year. Kicking off with a cookout and swimming party at Felice Haas house, BBYO attracted 50- 60 old and new members. A membership convention in Homestead, Fla. was planned by Michelle Fishmsn. In attendance from Tampa were Rodney Davia, Manny Matalon, and Amadeo Ekhberg. Tampa BBYO is active in the North Florida Council (NFC), with four NFC officers: Mi- chelle Fbhman, Vice President. Glen Posia, Vice President in charge of Programming (and Tampa AZA president), Rodney Davia, Secretary of NFC, and Lila Pohw, Programming Vice President. BBYO is also preparing for their Regional convention which about 25 or their members will attend in Leesburg. Fla. the third week in December. Also in December, BBYO is having a carwash. This is their small fund- raiser. Diet now to support them in January that's when they're holding the annual MAM sale. Elections for second-semester local offices will be held during the regular Wednesday night meeting (JCC, 7:30-9:30) in slew weeks. Look ahead to the Sweet- heart-Heartthrob Dance in Feb- ruary. It might be a good time to start looking for a dress ... or a date? SchZFTY attended a conven- tion in Orlando last month. In at- tendance were Helens Wallace, Tiffani Stein, Wendy Posner, Stephen Zielonka and Elf Cohen. Current events for SchZFTY include a carwash, swim party, and a surprise oneg shabbat fol- owing services. Shalom Chavarhm 4%MlklatMifV If Sam Breakstone hadn't been so meshuggah about his sour cream and cottage cheese in 1882, they wouldn't taste so good today. 100 years ago, Sam Breakstone had a reputation for being a demanding man. A very demanding man. Good wasn't good enough for Sam. His sour cream and cottage cheese had to be as fresh, as natural, and as deocious as they could possibly be. And because Sam was so demanding then, ins sour cream and cottage cheese tastes so delicious now. Right now, you can demand 10* off both Breakstone's sour cream and cottage cheese by redeeming these coupons. CERTIFIED 9HT2E2 DQEhT Mr. Grocer: Kraft.
