WHAT IS A BOBBIE BROWN*
"God must have combined many things to-
gether to make a Bobbie Brown. He used a
puppy's innocence, the curiosity of a cat. the
wise mind of an owl, the courage of a lion, the
energy of youth, the dependability of time, the
devotion of Ruth, and to top it all off. the
uniqueness of just being Bobbie Brown." TWs
tribute, written by Mrs. Steven Tobin and Mrs.
Jerome Halpern for the Alumnae and Alpha Eta
Chapter at the University of Miami, was read at
the national convention of Alpha Epsilon Phi in
the Bahama* when Bobbie (Mrs. Norman Brown)
was installed as its national president. Among
the Miami AEPhi's watching the installation
were Mrs Mike Spector. Mrs. Charles Finkel-
stein ami Mrs Burton Levey. As husbands at a
sorority convention always do. the husbands who
had gone along set out to play polf, and managed
to squeeze nine holes in betwe-.-n the raindrops
for it rained all the time.

Sidney Schwartzes were there with their daugh-

that the Nap leons were a little si ppy-looking.

THERE WERE TWO OF THEM
Twins; They looked just exactly alike. Linda
and Andrea Rimer, who are taking the Arista
Tour to Switzerland. Spain, England, and what
have you. With their father and mother. Dr. and
Mrs. Harry Rimer, they were having fun getting
their money changed into Travelers' Checks to
take with them at the Washington Federal. All
of the people at the bank, including Clare Hay-
den (the nicest V.P. of all) were getting quite a
kick out of watching them.
DID YOU SEE?
There was a picture of Sandy Karlan. whose
engagement to Richard N. Roffman was being
announced, in the Jewish Floridian. Sandy's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Karlan of New
York. Richard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Roffman. belong in Miami. But what you don't
know is that Sandy is Isabel (Mrs. Howardi
Grove's niece -Sandy's mother is Isabel's sister.
She wore a bright yellow linen dress with a
little collar and looked exactly like her mother,
who was sitting in front of the TV. proud as a
peacock. The program was "Face the Nation.
The girl in the yellow dress was Elizabeth (Mrs.
! trick! Drew. Washington editor of the Atlantic
Monthly, whose mother is Estelle < Mrs. William)

who left Monday for a trip to
Israel. England and Switzerland.
The group plans to meet with
Israeli leaders, and will contact
Jewish communal leaders in the
other countries on their tour.

Mr. and .Mr*. Lro Elseot-ln,
5925 N. Bay Rd.. recently re-
turned from a 36-day cruise to
the Land of the Midnight Sun.
After visiting Iceland, they went
on to Leningrad. Oslo. Stock-
holm. Copcnhage n and Amster-
dam. During their stay in Lenin-
grad, they had the opportunity
of visiting that city's only syna-
gogue.
