SANITATION-BOCAS DEL TORO.
The town has been thoroughly oiled, and all deposits of fresh water that can not for any reason be filled are inspected and oiled regularly. The barrels and tanks are inspected within the tenday period, and all water receptacles that are unfit for service are condemned and destroyed. I
It is gratifying to note that the people are furnishing their houses with tanks, and for every tank installed it is possible to dispense with from three to five barrels and, further, these new zinc tanks can be made absolutely mosquito proof at a minimum expense.
The method of fixing these tanks'is to make a circular opening about 5 inches in diameter in the removable cover and solder the netting to the rim of the opening. The wire netting is cut large enough to allow of its being depressed downward into the tank and thus forming a pocket. The leader from the eaves trough fits into theopening in the cover, but is so supported outside that it does not come in contact with the wire netting. Netting so arranged serves the double purpose of keeping out mosquitoes and other extraneous matter.
